New Start - Mini Comic

This was freelance work done early 2017 for a start up festival in Tasmania. It follows Spinifex - a computer hacker living in Melbourne, Australia. Fed up with how stifling his world has become, he decides to make a break for it to Van Diemen's Land; aka Tasmania. He wanders into the wilderness to begin his journey anew without the restrictive governing body trifling with his well-being. Written in prose and poetry, I was attempting to portray the restrictiveness of our technology, the disregard for life in terms of the amount of visual and physical pollution there is, and the deafening of spirituality. The pages near the middle are representative of different life forces, all represented by women to portray fertility; the elements are fire, air, water and earth. I illustrated the woman holding the cup with an over abundance of Yang (white) energy. They are also symbolic of different suits in Tarot and the emotions correlating to the suit.
